Rachael Coakley, PhD, is the Director of Clinical Innovation and Outreach in Pain Medicine for the Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care, and Pain Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital, and an Assistant Professor in Psychology at Harvard Medical School. She is the author of When Your Child Hurts: Effective Strategies to Increase Comfort, Reduce Stress and Break the Cycle of Chronic Pain, which recently received a National Parenting Products Award. She also directs The Comfort Ability®, a one-day pain management workshop for children with chronic pain and their parents and caregivers.
